J.Y. Park Piano Competition

Classical music has long been recognized for its many benefits, fostering discipline, focus, and resilience in learners of all ages. At the JUMY Foundation, we believe that training in classical music not only cultivates artistry but also builds character, concentration, and a strong work ethic.

To encourage and reward young musicians striving for excellence, the Foundation launched the annual J.Y. Park Piano Competition in 2014, in collaboration with the Department of Music at Western Connecticut State University (WCSU) and with the dedicated support of Dr. Russell Hirshfield, Professor of Music.

Since then, the competition has been held annually, providing a platform for young pianists to share their talent, dedication, and passion for classical music. We are deeply grateful for the ongoing partnership and support of the WCSU Music Department.

In 2024, the competition will be hosted at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MoCA) Westport, marking an exciting new chapter in our mission to celebrate and uplift the next generation of musicians.
